1/30/07: "Hello Tina, I thought I'd let you know that Raina (German Shepherd Dog - Odin/Dora puppy) is doing great. She's an unholy terror, destructive, sassy, and pretty bad in general, but has moments of unbelievable sweetness. I had a run-in with an emotionally disturbed homeless person in the woods a couple of weeks ago. All five of my dogs had vanished down the trail, and after the man knocked me down and I started screaming, they all came flying back with Raina in the lead. She knocked the man over and started barking up a storm, along with the others. Dante (Schipperke - Stitch/Irma puppy) tore into the man's bag and ripped a hole in it. The man ran away, leaving the bag behind, and all of the dogs stayed close to me for the rest of the walk. It would have been very scary for me, but the dogs were an excellent deterrent to any further trouble. Raina, in particular, stayed very close to me and became interested in the sounds my feet made as they crunched through the ice on the ground. Eventually she couldn't stand it any longer and lunged for my feet, causing me to uproot two small trees in my attempt to stay upright. I, of course, fell and she leapt on top of me with great glee. I alternately love that dog and hate her. We went to Enchanted Rock on Sunday and here's a picture of Raina and Dante with me almost at the summit. Rose"
