Introduction: I have been a "dog nut" ever since I was a baby. As a child I had a terrible habit of bringing home every stray I came across. My mother never appreciated the variety of dogs I brought into our home. I would also stop at anyones house if they had a dog I liked (a very bad thing to do. I think I gave my mother most of her grey hair that way). I began training dogs when I was 7 years old. I did not compete until I was 12. My first show was actually a fun match and my Doberman Pinscher , Samantha (the family dog I raised and trained) took second in the category of Most Obedient dog (she also took first for the shortest tail, but I don't brag about that one). Well I was so excited, I began to read and watch eveything about dogs and training. I continue to this day studying everything I can get my hands on about training and dogs in general. Then there was Dutch!

Dutch gave me an amazing gift! He let me succeed in a sport I wanted to do all my life. He became;

First Match

UKC-CDX Elliott's Blue Dutchman CDX, ASCA-CDX, CGC

He had 14 High in Trials (all-breed) and was a Therapy Dog. He was a one of a kind dog to train.

Ever since then I have been training dogs, teaching obedience classes and doing some competing. It is my passion. I have to admit that I love the training far more than the competition. I truly enjoy watching my dogs learn. I have shown in AKC, UKC, and ASCA obedience. I have trialed in Schutzhund and done a little conformation competition as well. I like to do everything.

I became interested in German Shepherds because I wanted a dog who could take weather extremes, was eager to learn, and of course beautiful. I believe that the GSD represents that ideal. I studied pedigrees and met tons of GSD's before settling on the bloodlines I chose.

Izzi

Izzi vom Shelly Shepherd CD, HCT, BH, Sch1

Izzi began my training in Schutzhund. She was great! She loved the work and was very eager to do things. She went High in Trial for all 3 of her CD legs.

I do breed occasionally and have been known to give away dogs to homes that are interested in competing in any dog event. I ALWAYS give priority to people who will work my dogs in some venue (GSD or Schip). I also co-own dogs with people who like to compete. When I breed, I try to choose the best temperaments as I feel that is the most important thing in any dog. I belong to several clubs and do take my puppies out to learn about the world. Being an obedience instructor, I understand the need for socialization and good temperament.

Agil_brie

This is Brie vom Anlaufstelle, a.k.a. "The Black Blur" showing off her agility skills in class with owner Lisa Holt.

I chose Schipperkes as a small dog with the same desire to work as a GSD. These guys are go-getters. Plus I wanted a breed that was hearty. I had seen too many smaller breeds with horrible health issues and I just didn't want that. Schips fit the bill nicely. Watch for our Schipperkes competing in future agility trials!
